Rotor Live 2025

| EGODRIFT

Rotor Live in Germany is the heli expo where EGODRIFT traditionally shows its newest work — the 4230EC line premiered there a year earlier, and the tradition continued. Simone Zunterer's booth tour catches Vincent mid-expo, walking through what he calls the most releases EGODRIFT has ever brought to a single year. It's a five-minute walk along one table that happens to contain the whole product strategy: the custom-stator technology moving size by size through the entire lineup. Here's what was on it.

In this video:

  • The new 4030EC Eclipse series
  • The 4230EC lineup and the largest motor in the range
  • Early access: the 0.1 mm 4726EC and 4730EC
  • The V6-to-V8 comparison

New: the 4030EC Eclipse series

The first addition to the lineup are the Tengu 4030EC Eclipse series motors with the EGODRIFT custom stator — positioned as the next big thing for 550 to 580-size helis and 600-size builds, across 6S to 12S setups.

The 4230EC line, now shipping

Presented at the previous Rotor Live and available since fall, the Tengu 4230EC Eclipse motors cover scale builds, light to ultralight 700s, and hardcore 600 smack flying. Beside them sits the largest motor in the range, built for large-scale birds, fixed wing and 14S 800-size models. The size jump is easy to underestimate on camera, so Vincent puts numbers on it: compared to a 40-size motor, it packs nearly double the stator volume for only about 50% more weight — the kind of ratio that matters when an 800-size machine or a heavy scale fuselage needs sustained power rather than short bursts.

Early access: the 0.1 mm Eclipse pair

The stars of the booth were two motors that wouldn't ship until summer: the Tengu 4726EC Eclipse and Tengu 4730EC Eclipse, shown as super early access units. They are the world's first motors featuring a 0.1 mm lamination stator — the thinner plate thickness fits about 50% more layers into the same stack height, for a much higher energy density. Vincent points out the detail work too: the curvature of the magnets and the stator arms are matched into a perfect arc.

His comparison for what the new pair feels like next to the current 4530 and 4525 motors:

"if you think about those as high-revving V6 engines those feel like race tuned V8s" — Vincent

You can even hear it, he adds — a deep, gurgling V8 sound when the motor starts up.

Catch it all in the video

The tour is quick, dense and shot on the expo floor, complete with the early-access hardware in hand — watch it above for the full walk-through, and see the product pages for the models that have since shipped.

Oh hi and Welcome to our EGODRIFT booth here at Rotor Live in Germany we have probably the most releases that we've ever had in a single year come this year it starts with the first addition that we have to our lineup these are the 4030 Eclipse series Motors featuring our etive customs data those are the next big thing for 550 to 580 size helis and 600 size for 12s 6s 8s 8s epic combo 2.0 and we have the motors that we presented last year at Rotor Live already that became available at I think in Fall last year the new 42 series Eclipse motors for scale light to ultralight 700s and hardcore 600 smack flight we have our biggest motor that we have for large scale Birds fixed wing and also 14s 800 size which is our 540 and if you look at it in comparison to a 40 we don't even have a 45 here but even to the next thing that we're going to talk about you can see that it's a lot bigger you have almost doubled the stator volume for 50% more weight and as we're here already we have two things that are only going to be released in summer of this year but we have a couple units Here as a super early access these are our new 4726 and 4730 Eclipse Motors featuring world's first 0.1 mm lamination stator the much smaller Stator the plate that plate thickness allows us to put 50% additional layers into the same he giving a much higher energy density if you look at the magnets the match the curvature match of the arc of the magnets and the stator arms is a perfect match now this is in comparison to the 4530 and 4525 Motors that we have currently if you think about those as high-revving V6 engines those feel like race tuned V8s and you can even hear it when you start up the motor it's a deep gurgling V8 sound and those are going to be the for this year so thank you very much
