Our Tengu 4230EC Eclipse model is the perfect choice for:
1) Light to Ultra-light 700 size helicopters
The past years have seen several releases in the light 700 class, such as the SAB Piuma, the Tron DNamic, the Flash by Oxy, and alike. While our Beta 4030HT and Tengu 4525HT models have both been performing great in these, the Tengu 4230EC fills a gap and combines the efficiency and power of our custom stators featured in the 45 size, with the reduced weight of a 4230 size to play into the lightweight character. The larger bearings fitting in the new 4230 Eclipse will also improve durability when running these larger blades.
2) F3C competition style flying (and SAB Genesis F3C)
F3C pilots find an interesting new option in the 4230 Eclipse that sits right in between the traditionally used 4035 and 4525 sized options - combining the slightly easier to anticipate power delivery of the 4035 with the efficient and cool operating temperature of the 4525 size.
The 370Kv version is one of two options for the SAB Genesis F3C model (and the popular choice for true f3c flying) - for more sportive flying also check out the Tengu 4726EC/370Kv
3) Performance 580 to 610 sized builds
The 4230 is also a great option for performance enthusiasts and/or heavier 580s to 610 sized helis, and makes for some great combinations with the Goosky RS6, the SAB Goblin 580 models or the Soxos 6.1 (520kV should work perfectly on its stock gearing).

Stator size:
The stator size of our motors is indicated as a combined number, where the first two digits refer to the stator width, and the last two digits refer to the stator height.
So a 4730 stator size refers to a motor with a stator width of 47 mm, and a stator height of 30 mm.
On large industry models with a stator diameter in exess of 100 mm (like our Jetstream Heavy Duty Series, these numbers are seperated by a dash, like 100-30 or 150-50.

Motor configuration:
The motor configuration gives you information about the number of stator arms/slots (N) and magnetic poles (P). So a 12N10P denomination refers to a motor with 12 arms and 10 poles.

This information includes the number of mounting holes, their respective thread size, and the bolt circle on which the holes are placed — shown as the number in brackets.
Example 1: "4x M4(30)"
This means that the motor features four M4 mounting holes, placed on a 30 mm bolt circle.
For extended compatibility with a wide range of models, some of our motors feature a combination of different mounting hole sizes and/or bolt circles. In this case, the information is shown as follows:
Example 2: "2x M4(30) + 2x M3(25)"
This means that the motor features two M4 mounting holes placed on a 30 mm bolt circle, and two M3 mounting holes placed on a 25 mm bolt circle.
Don’t worry if only two of the mounting holes, opposite to each other, line up with your mounting bracket or motor plate. Using only two screws is perfectly fine — but as with any metal thread, always use threadlocker.
