Description
Description
Delivering upwards of 10kW constant power, the massive Tengu 5040HS is aimed at heavy multi-head scale helicopters with up to 3m rotor diameter, hardcore 800 class 3D and speed machines running on 14S, as well as large warbird and IMAC type fixed wing aircraft.
Weighing in at only 750g, the Tengu 5040HS (previously known as Beta 5040HS) is a mere 50% heavier than our 4730/4530 sized models, but offers nearly double the stator volume - delivering huge amounts of torque for demanding applications.

All the products in our store are manufactured by us with great care. You knew that, but we get why you clicked the tooltip - and thanks.
The stator size of our motors is indicated as a combined number, where the first two digits refer to the stator width, and the last two digits refer to the stator height.
So a 4730 stator size refers to a motor with a stator width of 47 mm, and a stator height of 30 mm.
On large industry models with a stator diameter in exess of 100 mm (like our Jetstream Heavy Duty Series, these numbers are seperated by a dash, like 100-30 or 150-50.
The motor configuration gives you information about the number of stator arms/slots (N) and magnetic poles (P). So a 12N10P denomination refers to a motor with 12 arms and 10 poles.
This information includes the number of mounting holes, their respective thread size, and the bolt circle on which the holes are placed — shown as the number in brackets.
Example 1: "4x M4(30)"
This means that the motor features four M4 mounting holes, placed on a 30 mm bolt circle.
For extended compatibility with a wide range of models, some of our motors feature a combination of different mounting hole sizes and/or bolt circles. In this case, the information is shown as follows:
Example 2: "2x M4(30) + 2x M3(25)"
This means that the motor features two M4 mounting holes placed on a 30 mm bolt circle, and two M3 mounting holes placed on a 25 mm bolt circle.
Don’t worry if only two of the mounting holes, opposite to each other, line up with your mounting bracket or motor plate. Using only two screws is perfectly fine — but as with any metal thread, always use threadlocker.
This number refers to the legth of the motor body excluding the shaft, so from the mounting plate to the top of the rotor.
This number refers to the width (maximum extension from side to side) of the motor.
When checking the clearance in your frame, this is the number to compare it against.

I have been using the Egodrift 5040HS 500kv in my 800 size Strike 8.1 for more than a year and it is the perfect power plant for this size heli, delivering power to the extreme while still keeping temperatures under control.
The heli is setup with a 12S pack & HW 240A V5 ESC and can deliver massive torque for when I want to fly lower headspeeds, but also massive power when I turn up the headspeed for a speed run.
I did have to trim the canopy a little to make the motor fit on this model, but that is a minor inconvenience for getting such a versatile and powerful motor into my 800.
If you are after a motor for your 800 size heli or even a 700 speed heli, then this is a great choice.
Egodrift motors have been the best in all aspects and it all starts at the core with there customer service and President Vincent. From day one on ordering. Custom 5040 motor for my Logo Xxtreme 800. He guided me on set up and created a masterpiece for an efficient and powerful 800 heli which is category that is not common. I’m thankful they can customize and motor to fit your particular needs. I fly Egodrift in all my models and my friends have transitioned also. Love the look, power and efficiency they bring to your heli. Thanks Egodrift.
I had heard a lot of great comments about the performance of the Egodrift motors and was in need for a power system for a 54 pound HELI-FACTORY Bell 205. At the recommendation of Egodrift I ordered the 5040HS-385 and on 14S I have great performance and the motor, ESC and batteries NEVER get hot. I am looking forward to many great flights on this HELI-FACTORY model.
This motor is a beast. In my Diabolo S it pulls like a freight train. At 2650 rpm and 16 1/2 degrees of pitch, this motor often pushes up against 350 plus amps and never gives up. I have seen it pull upwards of 400 amps on a couple really good runs. It gets warm but not as hot as some other motors flying standard 3D flights.
