EGODRIFT at IRCHA 2021

| EGODRIFT

Shot live from the EGODRIFT tent at the IRCHA 2021 Jamboree by Bill Ann, this is Patrick McKibben and Greg Ringle giving the most natural product tour there is: two pilots standing in front of the motors they actually fly, explaining what goes where and why. EGODRIFT motors also took first and second place in several IRCHA Speed Cup classes that year.

In this video:

  • Hand-wound motors and free custom Kv winding
  • HS or HT: which series for which pilot
  • Real setups from Greg Ringle's fleet
  • Signature Series canopies
  • Ben Key, chilling in the corner

Hand-wound means never out of options

The tour opens with the point that defines the range, from the 4530HT and HS all the way down to the 2520:

"everything is hand wound so in your rotor your stator size if you need a kv that we don't have we can custom wind it for you" — Patrick McKibben

— at no charge, as Greg confirms. Alongside it comes a claim you rarely hear at a trade tent: a 30-day money-back guarantee that, per the two of them, one or maybe two people had ever used, with an incredibly low failure rate on the motors. Their thermal summary is equally direct: the motors are incredibly efficient and cool running — you don't land with a hot motor.

HS or HT?

The positioning advice is simple. The HS series is the efficiency play — great flight times with a great balance of power. The HT series is for the power-hungry. Greg's combos from his own fleet: the 4530HS 510Kv (a popular choice for the Raw), the 4530HT in 510Kv and 550Kv "depending if I want to rip tree trunks out of the ground or not", a 4030HT 550Kv in the OXY5, the 4035HT 550Kv for 600-class machines, a 4035 560Kv in his Kraken 580 — and in the Goblin 380, a 3220 960Kv he calls a monster. Some motors on the table carried beta-series tops; production versions would ship with the standard sticker-bomb design.

Canopies, distribution, and the man in the corner

The tent also stocked the EGODRIFT Signature Series canopies — models for XLPower, the Raw, LOGO and Protos machines, with name personalization available. US distribution runs through HeliDirect, who keep nearly every motor and multiple shaft sizes in stock. And the closing shot belongs to team manager Ben Key:

"he is team manager he's hanging out chilling in the back chilling like our motors when they land"

Hi i'm patrick mckibben with EGODRIFT we're at IRCHA 2021 jamboree i'm greg green with EGODRIFT and we're here to talk about some motors so we've got everything from the 4530 ht and hs to the 2520 yep 25 20. One of the things that's nice about the EGODRIFT line is everything is hand wound so in your rotor your stator size if you need a kv that we don't have we can custom wind it for you and because everything's hand wound doesn't cost anything no charge and we got a pretty darn good money back guarantee we do 30 days if you don't like the motor send it back and you'll get your money back we've had what one person two people i think do that if that yeah we've got incredibly low failure rate on the motors i don't think you'll be unhappy with it at all yeah some of the neat things i like about these motors they're incredibly efficient and cool running they don't you don't land with a really hot motor so they're very efficient in that standpoint our hs series is incredibly efficient from the standpoint of getting great flight times and it's a great balance of power our hts are for those power hungry right for the people that really want it they're going to go after it a little above my speed at least but i i tend to like the hs you know for what i fly personally but the ht is a monster so for the power hungry we got the hd hd's away there you go kind of like tim allen tool time there you go we got a full range of products here at the booth if you're interested swing on by we can pretty much take care of all your needs all right some of our models here we've got a 40 45 30 hs 510Kv and that's also a really popular one for the raws and i fly at my spectre that's what i prefer you do more of the ht stuff correct yeah i run the 4530ht in my raw i've got a 510 and a 550 depending if i want to rip tree trunks out of the ground or not right and then we'll move on down to the oxy5 and this is a 40 30 ht 550Kv um and then if you move down to the 600 all right this one is the 40 35 ht 550 for the 600 class oxy and now on my kraken 580 i run the 40 35 560Kv yeah and that's a pretty popular choice as well yeah these are some of our if you can see the logos on them these are some of our beta motors that are just now kind of getting out into into production so when those go into production they'll have the standard can tops right now that's kind of our beta series for testing yep and when they go into production they'll have the normal sticker bomb top for them now obviously HeliDirect is the us distributor yep that's right so all these motors are available through HeliDirect and they're usually keep a pretty great stock just about every motor and shaft sizes there's multiple shaft sizes for a lot of things i don't have a model here right now but in my goblin 380 i run the 3220 960Kv yep right here this one right here and that's been a monster in my 380 and i absolutely love it unfortunately the helicopter no longer exists after last night's nightfly now it goes without saying if you want a sexy EGODRIFT canopy we've got those available as well on the EGODRIFT website we've got models for obviously XLPower the raw the logos yeah protos so we've got a range of different types of canopies like this available as well and you can get your name put on them if your name was chad you can borrow chats so and we can't leave them out mr ben key in the corner he is team manager he's hanging out chilling in the back chilling like our motors when they land
